Each year the Black Canyon Quilt Show board chooses a non-profit organization to receive the proceeds from the sales in their boutique store, This year they chose Region 10 Community Living Services (CLS) and the donation was in the amount of $4,921.82.

“This donation gives us a really good start on the 2018 Caregivers’ Summit,” said Eva Veitch, director, Area Agency on Aging.

CLS includes the Area Agency on Aging (AAA) which seeks to assure that a comprehensive array of services provided through a coordinated network will be available to enable older persons in the region to live independently as long as possible.  Some of the services include Dental Prevention Program, Family Caregiver Program, Homemaker & Personal Care, Legal Aid, Mental Health Services, Nutrition Services, Long-Term Care Ombudsman, and Transportation.

Black Canyon Quilt Show, Inc. is comprised of three Montrose quilt guilds. Anyone interested in quilting is invited to be a guest at guild meetings. Each group meets monthly to exchange ideas, improve quilting skills and share the love for the art of quilt making.
